CHAPEL HILL, N.C.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Wellstone Filters Sciences, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: WFSN), the leading modified risk cigarette filter company, is pleased to announce that it participated in the FDA’s conference call regarding the guidance document entitled “Registration and Product Listing for Owners and Operators of Domestic Tobacco Product Establishments.”
During the conference call, Wellstone’s CEO L.J. Hand focused on the need for clarification of registration by companies such as Wellstone who participate in only part of the manufacturing process. Wellstone is a filter technology company dedicated to research, discovery and development of methods and compounds that remove a wide range of toxins and carcinogens without impairing consumer acceptance.
ABOUT THE COMPANY
Wellstone Filter Sciences, Inc., Inc. has developed and patented a “Reduced Exposure Product,” or “REP,” cigarette filter that reduces toxins and carcinogens without compromising taste. With over a decade of research and development, Wellstone is the only company specializing in Reduced Filter Products poised for new FDA oversight of Tobacco products.
Wellstone’s filter technology has undergone several tests for efficacy including official FTC testing. Wellstone CEO L.J. Hand stated, “We are by far, the best available technology in the highly specialized field of REP technology. ”
The Wellstone Filter does not affect taste — clinical trials have shown that the filter can actually enhance taste by removing irritating compounds such as ammonia. Further, the cost of the patented filter is not prohibitive; Wellstone has developed a low-cost manufacturing process which will have little impact on the cost of the final product.
